Goff Danter

We are currently exhibiting for sale an original painting by local Welsh artist, Goff Danter. Goff works from the town of Brynmawr, located next to Blaenavon, and the painting 'Sammy Sprig's Shed' is an original from his Local Welsh Art series.

Sammy Sprig's Shed

"Most people took shoes to a local cobbler's shed for repair. He used tiny nails known as 'sprigs' and was known locally as 'Sammy Sprig' or 'Lewis the leather'."

Goff trained at the West of England College of Art, Bristol, Cardiff College of Art and Cardiff University. He is a member of the Contemporary Art Society for Wales.

"Although most of his paintings have personal recollection and experience as their foundation, they are 'generalised' in a way which makes their appeal extremely wide ranging."

Goff's links with South Wales and his 'origins' provide the inspiration for many of his paintings. His style is expressive with a high level of personal interpretation.
